As the director of Education for the American Institute of Mental Health Diseases in TCM, I have many ideas for promoting Ben Shen Harmony therapy as a tool to treat mental disturbances in todays’ hectic society. We are inundated in our world daily with the standards and expectations that do not match or support our needs as human beings. This can result in many problems that affect one’s spirit and mental wellness. The failure to meet expectations by family, community and culture can be traced to the root of many mental disturbances. This coupled with trauma caused by the different dynamics also involving cultural imbalances gives rise to mentally unhealthy individuals.
When people are educated and informed about how to manage their emotions and mental stability, they can make better choices in life that lead to happiness and fulfillment and the ability to discover their unique gifts and express them. As a result, we can collectively began to address the challenges in our world by the implementation of new ideas and ways to change our world for the better. This is my vision for a better society and we can connect and uplift mankind to it’s greatest good. This is also one of the aspects of shen, it stems from one universal source, we as human beings all possess and it extends and connects humanity as a whole. Our Institute has the opportunity to be instrumental in this process, through lectures, educational training programs and certifying other practitioners of Chinese Medicine with the theory, and tools to help others to reach their highest potential and become mentally stable in their daily lives. I look forward to connecting with others in this profession to help contribute to a more harmonious society in which all people are regarded equally and valued as whole and healthy human beings. |
