I am passionate about providing holistic healthcare which addresses the mental, emotional and physical, within diverse communities. Currently I maintain two private practice locations – one in West LA and one in East LA. At both locations I see patients from different backgrounds. I work closely with two organizations that focus on mental health in Latino communities (Alma Family Services and the Animo program of St. Joseph’s Center). These organizations have expanded beyond just traditional talk therapy and psychiatric treatment in certain cases to also provide integrative, holistic care including Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition, breathing and relaxation techniques, etc. I have seen how the integration of care has more impact than just one modality alone.
Jenny has a background in community organizing, especially around Tenant Rights. She holds a BA from Brown University where she graduated with Honors in Development Studies and Literary Arts, and a MA from Yo San University in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She held a prestigious externship, practicing acupuncture on a chronic pain management team at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She is a Fulbright Scholar.
I am excited to continue to organize networks between mental health professionals, healers, TCM practitioners, and community organizations to learn from each other and provide better care to patients. I have a background in social justice community organizing and see how systems of oppression affect people’s mental, emotional and physical health. I hope to continue to make TCM treatment, philosophy and education more accessible to a wider range of people.
